Foreword

Welcome to IDFA Project Space 2020, We are proudly welcoming you all, 17 young promising talents from all over the world whose projects have been selected for this program. We would also like to extend our gratitude and a warm welcome to all the tutors whose time, enormous expertise, and skills help to make this program what it is. The nurturing of talent and the exchange between talent and expertise is one of the driving goals of the IDFAcademy. The aim of IDFA Bertha Fund is to create a space for free artistic expression, and support and safeguard critical and relevant filmmaking. With the IDFA project Space a longstanding collaboration has been taken a step further. The past few months we have all been forced to re-examine what we took for granted, simple things have become complicated and our coping mechanisms have been constantly challenged. However, this crisis has also created a space for reflection and new ideas and out of this the IDFA Project Space was born. A program that at its core has filmmakers, their projects and needs, and through a flexible structure aims to cater as much as possible to each individual project. The purpose is to inspire and challenge you and support you on the journey to bring your project a step further. We hope the upcoming weeks will offer you experiences that will last you a lifetime and that your time at the IDFA Project Space will help develop your creativity and your passion for film making. Hopefully, IDFA may welcome you in the future editions of the festival with the film that was developed here at IDFA Project Space. We wish you all a productive and inspiring program.
